When choosing corrugated cartons, the nature, weight, storage and transportation conditions and circulation environment of the products must be considered first. Secondly, the design should be based on the shock-proof packaging design principles and corrugated cartons design methods. In addition, relevant standards must be followed. Standards or foreign business requirements, and have to go through related tests, so the following two points should be paid attention to when choosing corrugated box packaging.
(1) Corrugated model of corrugated board The model of corrugated board is divided into four categories: A, B, C, and E according to the height of the corrugated board. The mechanical properties of different corrugated boards are also different. Type A corrugated board has the highest plane pressure and higher compressive strength, while Type B is the opposite. Type C has better plane pressure, vertical pressure, parallel pressure and buffering force; the thickness between corrugated boards is the largest for Type A and Type C. Secondly, type B is the smallest, and type E is the smallest. Because the thickness of the cardboard is easy to process and bend, the B-shaped corrugated paper is widely used in packaging and shipping boxes that do not require high compressive strength of the box. According to the different corrugated cardboard For mechanical properties, type A or C for single-sided corrugated boxes is better, and type A, B or combination of B and C for double-sided corrugated boxes, and type B for those close to the outer surface, which can resist impact. The combination of Type A, B or Type B and C can improve the physical and mechanical properties of the carton; from the comparison of printability, Type B and Type C are both good for printing.
(2) The box shape of the wagon carton. On the premise of ensuring the quality of the carton, the cost of carton processing materials and packaging should be saved as much as possible. For example, a carton with the same volume is the most cost-effective when the length:width:height is 2:1:2, and the ratio is 1:1:1. Therefore, square boxes should be avoided as much as possible. The product’s utilization rate of the box volume, the utilization rate of the box’s volume of trucks and train cars, and the stability of stacking during storage, transportation and pumping should also be taken into consideration.
What is the direct relationship between the burst resistance of the carton and the compression resistance
Compressive resistance generally refers to static force, in addition to static pressure, but also dynamic impact resistance. The former can be determined by the maximum accumulation experiment, and the latter is generally selected by a certain height of natural fall and frequent accidental impacts during transportation and the degree of transportation turbulence.
